Leitrim / Cavan Caving Weekend – January

A winter weekend exploring some of the classic caves of the Leitrim/Cavan region. As always, the exact caves will depend on weather, water levels, and the experience of those attending.
The Hub will be open from Friday evening through to Saturday night for anyone attending the trip. You’re welcome to arrive Friday, get settled, and sort gear ahead of an early start on Saturday.
The plan is to meet at the Hub on Saturday morning, get geared up, and decide on objectives once we see what we’re working with. Expect a mix of crawls, pitches, mud, water, and cold hands — standard January caving.
Sunday will be flexible: either another underground trip or skills practice depending on how people are feeling after day one.
This is an adventurous club trip, not a guided experience. Everyone is expected to be self-sufficient, honest about their ability, and happy to muck in with rigging, derigging, and decision-making.
